When I was a kid I wanted to be an architect. And a psychologist. (I also thought I would get married at 26, have 4 children before 30, earn a PhD…but that’s a topic for a different blog.)
Marketer was not a profession included in the career interest questionnaire I took in high school. (Is Marketer even really a job title?)
Now I have done (performed? survived?) B2B high tech marketing for more years than I want to put down in writing. I’ve held corporate marketing, marketing communications, sales enablement, product management, and product marketing roles.
At heart I’m a product marketing manager. I think that’s in great part because I love language and I love the process of communication. I love developing impactful messaging and tailoring that messaging for different audiences.
Product marketing is, of course, much more than messaging. But we’ll explore all of that in this blog.
